For several months my 192 has intermittently made a "puth" sound when the power switch is pressed. Last week it has started to wait up to 20 seconds before powering up after pressing the power switch. I took the power supply out onto the bench and there are no signs of damaged components. It is two years old.

First of what did you expect to Find Just a very short lesson now concerning Switching Power Supplies 90% of the time there will be NO indication of any bad components 5% of the time it may have a blown fuse 5% of the time you may see a burned component, or diagnose a short But regardless 100% of the time they are unserviceable for 2 Main reasons 1 They are usually less than $50 to purchase 2 No matter if you find a blown fuse, burned resistor, or shorted transistor there is reason that this is evident and 100% of the time replacing that 1 bad component will never fix the PS alone Switching Supplies are more complicated than traditional Power Supplies and regardless of it outputting 15 or 5 v but due to the nature of Switching Supplies High Frequency and Lethal Voltages are not uncommon internally Some of these supplies also use a sense line for power on which may be the source of this delay and not the supply itself

I have been having the exact same problem with one of my 192's. It makes that sound and then takes about 10 to 20 seconds to power up... There has to be a fix for this? anyway, It seems to be working fine, and not interrupting its performance. LSS

Same here. Bought 3 units new and had the power up delay, all three got repaired (replaced R1 component on the PSU for what it's worth). Now having same problem with two of them and the third totally blew and wouldn't power up. Got it replaced and that unit so far seems fine. Have tried replacing my power conditioners, had a new ring of electricity put into the control room, installed surge protectors before the power conditioners (which themselves have surge protection) and have another electrician coming to do tests next week but he had a quick look and said it doesn't seem to be an issue with our supply. Possibly a bad batch of 192's? Will ring Digi as soon as I've had the test on the electricity supply done.

Hi, I have the same problem. It takes some time until my 192 becomes active after powering up. But: It takes much longer to start the Mac and Pro Tools, so there is no problem at all for me... Kind regards Mark
