Today I replaced my top engine mount on my 2001 c70 t5 and when I removed the top engine cover I was a bit disturbed by what I saw. There is a lot of wiring under there and the protecive casings of the wires has disintegrated and fell off most of it should I be worried about this or leave it alone please see the attatched pics.
sorry I can't seem to be able to upload the pics at the moment.

Dont worry about it the plastic surrounds on the cables disintergrate with age and heat, done the same on my 2001 T4. You could get yourself some cable tidy stuff from DIY shop and replace them or not worry. Personally I just blew the bits out and made sure the wires were tidy (wrapped them with some insulation tape) and put the cover back on. No problems here :)
Thanks for all the help guys. Cleaned up the top of the engine today and went for a good test drive. If you have not changed your top mount yet then I strongly recommend you do what a difference it has made to my car.
