DVDShrink 3.2 crashes and refuses to end

I have DVDShrink 3.2 and the latest version of Nero. I have a AMD64 3000+, Asus K8V SE Deluxe MB, and the NEC 2510A drive. Everything is fine with this setup, however when I add a second CDRW (ASUS) drive dvdshrink crashes horribly. Everything seems fine until I hit the "backup" button at which point DVDShrink refuses to respond. There is no way to end the program or restart the computer through Windows because the program refuses to end. I end up having to hit the restart button on the front of the computer to get it to reboot. I've tried doing a clean install of Windows XP and switching the master/slave configuration on the drives' jumpers - all to no effect. I'm really stumped on this one and would prefer to use both drives and maybe add additional drives in the future. Any suggestions?

Probably a hardware problem to resolve.

The second drive works with everything else. The only program that has a problem with it is dvdshrink, so I'm not entirely sure it's just a hardware problem.
