Reaper suddenly changing playback rate of audio files

This first occurred yesterday. I've been using Reaper for about 6 years and have worked with 10's of thousands of audio files and this has never come up before. When importing an audio file a change of rate is now sometimes being applied. For example I import an audio file and it will playback automatically at a rate of 0.897 or whatever. I know how to reset this in items settings but I would like to stop this from occurring globally. Any clue? I am running the latest version of Reaper 4. I made no changes in settings that I can remember and all of a sudden this happened with one clients mixes yesterday and then again with another clients mixes today. Thanks.

Figured it out! Preferences/Media/Video/REX/Misc "When importing media" was somehow changed to "Adjust media to project tempo". Changed back to "Import Media at Source Tempo". How this got changed I have no idea. I haven't updated Reaper in weeks, or made any OS changes or changes in preferences. Like two nights ago I restarted my computer. That is all I can think of. Either way glad I figured it out.

Good to know - I'll be importing some audio samples for a current project & I haven't done it before.
