No preamp is going to work. Please put down the soldering iron and take a deep breath. Here is what you need: Since your speakers are not powered, you need a stereo amplifier(how about an Alesis RA150 or something similar, even a PA power amp). Then wire the speakers to the amplifier outputs. Next, you need cables to connect the MAIN outputs of the 002, to the inputs of the amplifier. To do that right, you need to know what connectors are on the amplifier(the 002 has TRS outputs). That should get Pro Tools sounds out of the speakers. Now to the computer sounds, get a mini plug to dual RCA cable(most any music store or Radio Shack should carry this and its the same cable that someone would need to plug an iPod into a home receiver). Now in your computer sound settings, tell it to route all sound out the computer audio output. Plug that cable into the Alt inputs on the back of the 002. Push the Alt to Mon button on the front of the 002 to listen to computer sound.
